About Merritt

Merritt is currently the Major League Physical Therapist for the Arizona Diamondbacks. This is his first season in this role. Prior to this, he began his career as an intern with the Diamondbacks in 2019 and was the Minor League PT for the team from 2020-2022. Merritt graduated from Virginia Tech University with his Bachelor’s Degree in Science in 2014 and earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree from Duke University in 2018. Following graduation, Merritt completed a sports residency at Mass General Hospital / Northeastern University where he gained valuable knowledge and experience into the world of sports medicine. He became a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy (SCS) in 2020.
