About Kai

Okitsu who was born in Yokohama, Japan is a minor league physical therapist in the Texas organization. Shortly before joining the Rangers, Okitsu earned his doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas in May 2019. He has over 10 years of experience as an athletic trainer, as he worked at the University of Dallas from 2010-16 and at Mojave (Nev.) High School from 2008-10. He has also served as a United States Olympic Committee medical volunteer. In addition to his doctorate, he holds a master’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (graduated May 2010) and a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Utah (graduated 2008). Okitsu is a certified athletic trainer and holds a certification as a strength and conditioning specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Okitsu resides in Surprise, AZ.
